What does the GDPR mean for me?
2017 note: GDPR applied to UK organisations that hold personal data, including after Brexit.
From May 2018 the GDPR applied to organisations that collect or store personal data of people in Europe — including the UK, which had already said it would keep the regime. Encryption, access control, a way to forget someone, and breach notification were the practical bits. It applied to a payroll bureau and to a club spreadsheet.
