Frequently Asked Questions

“The recorded flight path is in the wrong place”…

There is a small difference between the global co-ordinates used in Microsoft Flight Simulator and Google Earth. The differences are small, only meters, but if you wish to record landings, approaches or take-offs in detail you may need to calibrate first. See the manual for a walkthrough on calibration.

“Why is a professional software vendor releasing this for free?”…

This is our first product for the Flight Simulator community, and as with all featured products we want to get it right. We’d like you to tell us exactly what you like or dislike about FSX GE Flight Recorder and we’ll change the product based on the feedback we receive.

If we get enough positive feedback, we’ll consider putting together a redesign of the software, and release a commercial software product.

In the meantime, if you would like to support the development of this Flight Simulator product and are able to make a donation, please do so here. All donators will receive a free full license of FSX Google Earth Flight Recorder, if it is developed later as a commercial software application. Donations are optional, FSX GE Flight Recorder 1.0 is released as Freeware.

“Can I read a review of this product?”…

Not at the moment, it’s only been available a short while, and only spread by word of mouth. Like it? Tell someone about it, and hopefully we’ll get a review. In the meantime, you could read Mike’s blog post at: Flight Simulator X Google Earth Flight Recorder (FREE SOFTWARE)
